The Royal Marines
I've been watching these guys on the TV news, and they are really good. I still don't agree with this war, but if we're gonna fight one I really believe it's important to do it right, and having real professionals like the Royal Marines in the fight is really doing it right. I wish there were somewhere I could could say a more public thanks, but this is my forum so here it is: Thank you, Royal Marines, and thank you U.K. Ministry of Defence for supplying the Marines and other truly professional forces to this effort. Thanks...

Another Quick Note on Mandrake Linux
Oooo, I like Mandrake 9.1 a lot. I installed it on the same test system I built up for my "How to Upgrade Your Computer" session; I had installed XP in a FAT32 partition in hope that Mandrake could see it, and lo and behold, it automounted the XP drive under /mnt/windows! Using the Mandrake control panel, it even located, read and installed all of my Windows Truetype fonts under X-windows. Very cool, and much better than Red Hat, where you still need to be a hardcore geek just to add fonts. It is certainly the free desktop system I would recommend to anyone looking for a good Windows replacement. I have not tried Xandros (the new home & name of what started life as Corel Linux) and I suspect it might be the most Windoze-compatible of all, but it's also $99 for the full-up version. So if you want something great for nothing, it should be Mandrake!
