Gotta Blog - But When?
I do not understand how "Instapundit" (Glenn Reynolds) can hold down a full time job in academia and still write his blog! I go days and days without having enough time to do an entry in mine. I guess I just have to make an effort to force myself to do shorter entries more frequently. Like a lot of "Web-intensive" people, I do see a lot of interesting links each day and I should just use "Blog This" when I see something neat. But I do have ''real" work to do; it's not I'm online full-time like Chris Pirrillo but hey, that's his job! I get email regularly from a couple of old Navy colleagues who ought to be blogging instead. You know, the stuff they say is interesting but if they blogged it I would still go read it - I mean I do read some blogs every day and I'm sure I'd go read theirs too. That's why I keep a blogroll. I try to read Big White Guy each day; he's a good writer and regularly reminds me why I miss the Far East. (And his actual Hong Kong subtitles page is great stuff; first quote on the page: "A normal person wouldn't steal pituitaries." Nope, I would guess not). I'm actually writing this on my Dell Axim Pocket PC. (We bought a new lab from Dell and they sent us a free Axim with every five PCs.) This may be the answer to that problem - write my blog on this as the thoughts occur to me. Actually at the moment I keep falling asleep because I only slept four hours last night; we had a graduation party for a friend last night (M.A. in Teaching from Aurora University) and then a church graduation breakfast this morning: I had to get up at 6:00am to cook. I dropped my stylus three times as I nodded off while jotting this note (with a nice aluminum ''klang")! Overall I think this is a decent plan.

OK, It's Stupid--But Still Funny...
At Heathrow Airport today, an individual, later discovered to be a public school teacher, was arrested trying to board a flight while in possession of a compass, a protractor and a graphical calculator. Authorities believe he is a member of the notorious al-Gebra movement. He has been charged with carrying weapons of math instruction.
